Deep appreciation for the homework you're doing for the lot of us, and your willingness to embrace the nuance here. I have thoughts and questions but will digest and come back with something coherent. For now just wanted to express my gratitude for your work. I have been wandering in a slightly different woods, glad I finally got back here.

Thanks Lorraine! I thought of you just a few days ago when the New York Times published an op-ed with this line in it: "Institutional investors such as BlackRock’s Larry Fink have pushed E.S.G. — or environmental, social and governance — investing to turn corporations into agents of progressive change." Hah!

Man oh man. Nick, we have much to talk about. You and I live in the nuance. I'm getting told I've been radicalized by the extreme right no left no right etc. I'm like, I was radicalized long ago by a really cool oak tree who would think we're all morons if that wasn't an anthropomorphic appropriation. I have zero time for the left/right nonsense. I don't know what the word "progressive" means at this point. It's all getting scrubbed at the Ministry of Truth. And the oak tree doesn't care.

Although... my understanding of "the climate narrative" is changing. The further I step get from the corporate funded *anything* (media, disclosures, investor blather) the more I question what I've been believing for the last 20 years, and the more I see a need to get real about industry's response (and our own responses as change agents). Fossil fuel, renewable, infrastructure, consumer-facing brands, the whole lot of us. We're all due for a set of corrections - not one path or way, but a fundamental shuffle.

And I believe you are adding to the much needed thoughtful stuff.

I'd be glad to compare notes at some point if you like!
